THE WANGANUI PRESBYTERY.

The Presbytery of Wanganui met in St. Andrew's Church, Palmcrston, last week. Presentßev. J. B. Hall (Moderator), Revs. J. Mackie, G. Budd, E. G. Evans, G. K. Aitkon. J. Chisholm, A. Doull, R. McCully, A, Morton, J. D. McKenzie, J. A. MeKenzio and D. Martin, Messrs J, Matheaon, S. McCully, McFarland, Parkinson, Keys, R. B. McKenzie, McGregor and Edio. The Rev. J. Chisholm, of Mangaweka, was appointed Moderator for tho enusing six months. Rev. J. D. McKenzie reported on tho visitation of Fordell. After conaideration of the report tho Presbytery resolved, that it was highly gratified with the successful work amongst the young in Bible Class and Sunday School. It sympathised with the congregation in the difficulty created by tho great distances between the preaching places, and encouraged tho minister, office-bearers and congregation to continued fidelity to tho Church of Christ. Mr R. B. McKenzie (Carnarvon) moved, and it was agreed, That the Minister for Education bo asked to print on wall sheets and hang in the schools the testimony of His Majesty King George V. to the influence of Scripture, as_ given in the following words"lt, is my confident hope—subjects may never cease to cherish confirmed by the widespread interest your movement lias aroused—that my their noble inheritance in tho English Bible, which in a secular aspect is tho first of national treasures, and is, as , you truly say, in its spiritual significance the most valuable thing that this world affords." Reports of stations were received. The transfer of Mr Hogg from Utiku to Halcombe was approved. Rer. A, Morton asked to bo relieved of. the Moderatorship of "Wanganui East, and the Presbytery resolved to postpone consideration of the matter until tho Visitation Committee reported. • _ Discussion then took place concerning ministerial tenure of office, and the Assembly's remit was approved. Thereafter the Awemnly's Maori Mission Committee met.
