MANAWATU COMPETITIONS. The competitions under the jnrisdic'S tion of Uio_Mana.wat.il Rugby Union wore continued in fine weather and with tho IQ following results: SENIOR. R. KIA TOA (22) v. PALMERSTON (3). This match, played on the ShowIE grounds, except for dashes of brilliancy on isolated occasions, was a very poor E game. For the'first spell things were not so bad, but Kia Tba, had the upper hand, both their backs and forwards playing better than their opponents. Tho se second spell opened well, but towards tho end the Blacks had things all their own way, scoring throe tries in quick sue- „ cession. The scorers on the Kia Ton side were Stalker (3), O'Conor, Mullins and M" Ward. , Two oE the tries were converted ig by McKcwon.
