THE LATE MR. CLAUDE-A SUGGESTION.
(TO THE EDITOB.) Sir -It is sad indeed to hear of the death of Mr Claude, tho man who by Ins pluck and quick thought for others so recently averted a collision on our Man Trunk' Line. He has left a widow and little children. Surely the people of Acw Zealand would like to subscribe goooiou«lv towards their support to show how irrcatry we admired his bravery and miselfishness. Nowadays eo much admiration, and often money, is showered upon a champion of some sport or other, while such acts as Mr Claude performed are praised for a day, then forgotten. I hope our town will take this matter up. Small sums from the many are generally more productive than larger sums from the fcw.-I am, etc., Q Juno 17th, 1911. .
