A I > £Peb Prkhb Association.) AUCKLAND, June 16. j At the Supreme Court this morning, ! John Kettle, who had pleaded guilty I of forgery at Gisbonie, failed to apI pear. It was presumed he had left I the country. Judge Edwards said that Kettle, by forgery, got £lB 19s, and when before the Lower Court lie stated lie had been induced to commit the crime to relieve the distress of his wife and family in Scotland. Enquiries made showed that the wife had only . received 30s from accused prior to the ! offence. A warrant lias been issued for Kettle's apprehension.
