FISHERMAN'S TRYING EXPERIENCE.
While following his calling, a fisherman .named George Peters got caught in asoutherly buster off Porirua harbour on 'Thursday afternoon. A very heavy sea was running on tho bar at the entrance to the harbour, and Peters was compelled to weather the stom_ in (lie Slraita all night, single-handed, iu a cockleshell of a boat. All oil-launch went out-, but, was ■driven back by the storm. All night long his wife and children walked tho beach in the hope of seeing his boal arrive. At 7.30 yesterday morning Peters put in an appearance after having undergone a very trying and unenviable experience, lie was thoroughly exhausted,
