ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS, LTD. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At our Palmerston North sale, held on June 15th, we had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Sheep met with a keen demand, every lot selling under the hammer at prices in favour of vendors. Cattle were dull of sale, owners' reserves in most cases being rather high. We quote .-—Empty ewes 8s Bcl to 10s, 2-tooth wethers lis lOd, mixed hoggets Bs, 2d, small 4s 3d, cull ewes 4s sd. Cattle.—Forward cows £3 18s 6d to £4 ss, store cows £2 to £2 10s, forward bullocks £6 12s Gd, dairy heifers £6 to £6 ss, cows £6, weaners 16s to 265. DALGETY AND COMPANY, LTD. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., .report:—At our usual weekly Palmerston North sale yesterday, loth inst., wo had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold as follows: Small wether lambs to 5s 8(1, small ewe lambs to 6s lOd, mixed age ewes to 6s 7d, empty ewes 6s 7d, forward ewes to 10s lid, store cows £2_ to £3, weaner steers £2, springing heifers to £5, dairy heifers to £5 9s and £6 10s, dairy cows to £5 10s, light fat cows £5 lis. N.Z, LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—We held a very successful sale of dairy stock on account of Mr A, Broadbelt at Rongotea on Tuesday. The cows were mostly Holstein and Holstcin cross, and being well known as a good herd they were keenly competed for, prices running up to £l3 10s. The 37 sound cows offered made the good average of £9 17s 6d. Three testers sold from £3 76 6d to £7 15s, potters 20s to 50s, heifers £5 os to £9, fat cows £5 ss, Holstein bull £lO, Shorthorn bull £4 10s, weaner bulls 20s to £2 10s, weaner heifers 35s to £2 2s 6d.
At Palmerston North on Thursday wo had a moderate entry of sheep and cattle, Sheep were in better demand, and cattle sold at lato We quoteSheep.—Store ewos 7s 4d, aged ewes 6s 9d, ewes in lamb 12s. Cattle.—"Weaners 21s to 26s 6d. yearling steers £2 2s 6d, yearling lieiiors £2 Bs, backward dairy heifers £3 5s to £4 2s 6d, stor'e cows £2 6s to £2 17s Cd, forward cows £3 4s, dairycows £4 6s to £o 7s 6d, fat heifers £6 15s 6d, forward bullocks £7 9s.
