DRUIDS' LODGE.

I The Di'uids held their usual meeting last night, a large numbor being in attendance. Four candidates wore proposed for membership. Tho election of two delegates to the Friendly Societies' Council resulted in tho return of Bros. P. Jackson and F. Pycroft, Bro. C. J. Page, the retiring dolcgato, not seoking reelection. Tho management committeo were instructed to meet to draw up conditions for the challenge card shield that the. lodge is presenting for competition among tiic lodges in town. Bros. 11. T. Smith and C. Murphy were installed into their respective offices byD.P. Bro. Pycroft. A committee consisting of Bros. T, Mitchell, E. Harriman, and F. ' Pycroft were appointed to choose' a team to represent the lodge in the inter-lodge .card tourney this season. ! At the conclusion of the meeting a social was tendered, to P.A. Bro. J. Ellis, ■who'is leaving for the Old' Country on Saturday next. A large number .of members remained. Brethren wero also present from Dannovirko, Feilding, Dundin, and New Plymouth. Tho following toasts were honoured during tho evening:— "The King," "Grand Lodge/' "P. A. Bro. Ellis," and the "Visitors." Tho toast of Mr Ellis was proposed by . tho Mayor, Mr J. A. Nash, who referred to the many good qualities of the departing member, specially mentioning tho interest he took in lodge and association football matters, and on behalf of the lodgo wished him and Mrs Ellis a picasj ant trip and' a safe return. I D.P. Bro. Pycroft, in making a. presen v tation of a gold and greenstone watchchain, on behalf of the lodge, also referred to the assistance Bro. Ellis had been to tlio lodge, mentioning that we had been successful in introducing no loss ' than 115 members, almost lall of whom' j were still members of the lodge. j Advantage was also taken of tho social to present P.D.P- Bro Jackson with a P.D.P. collar and case, Bro. Pycroft making the presentation on behalf of the lodges in the district... During tho evening songs were given by Bro Benjamin, Watterston, Robb, and Hanna. Bro. J. A. Nash presided at tho piano. At the conclusion of tho social cheers wore given for Bro. Ellis, Mrs Ellis and daughter. ""headaches, • Like many other human ailments, have been wrongly diagnosed -and altogether misunderstood.
