THE KNIGHTS ERRANT,
(13y Electric Telegraph-Copyright.! (Per Press association.)
LONDON, March 24. Lord Robert Cecil and Messrs Griffiths (Commoner) and J. T. Ellis, in a letter to tho Times, state that they examined a hundred statements of witnesses, and found a clear case for a searching inquiry into the conduct of tho police towards the Suffragettes on November 18. Several Suffragettes wore kicked, their bodies and limbs showing _ signs afterwards. Others were struck in the face, and beaten gonerally. Women suffered every species of violence, including indignities of a very gross kind. [November 18 was the last wild outbreak of Amazonian protest against the refusal of the powers that bo to make instant compliance with their demands for the vote. Numerous arrests were made after various Ministers had been attacked en route to Parliament. The Home Secretary recently announced that a careful enquiry revealed that the pp. lice had used considerable fovbearanco in a very trying situation, and it is not likely' that the letter over tho signature of tho three Opposition .supporters mentioned will have any effect in re-opening tho case.]
