RAILWAY SERVANTS' SPLIT.
BOTH SIDES AT WORK. (Pes Peess Association.) WESTPORT, Nov. 7. At a meeting of the New Locomotive Engine Drivers, Firemen ? s and Cleaners' ; . Association (Westport branch) to-night, 1 the following resolution, was passed:—"That members of this' branch of theE.F.C.A. fire determined to fight for recognition, and emancipation, and no effort'of the A.S.R,S, will ever coerce or induce them to become members of that body." JNVERCARGILL, Nov. 7. • At the meeting of the local branch of the A.S.A.S., for the purpose of protesting againet the proposed official recognition by the Government of the Loooniotivo Society, a resolution was carried : "That in view of the attitude of the Railway Parliamentary Committee recommending Government recognition of the Engine Drivers, Firemen and Cleaners' Society this branch, enters its emphatic protest against such recommendation." TIMARU, Nov. 7. The Timaru branch of the Railway Servants' Society carried unanimously a resolution protesting against division by recognition of the drivers, firemen and cleaners as a separate organisation, and have sent a copy to the chairman of the Railway Committee and the local member.
