WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.

The Education Board met last evening. There were present: Messrs Pirani (chairman), Dixon, Purnell, Aldridge, Spurdle, O'Dea, Bennett, and Fraser.

The resignations of A. A. Andrews (Sedgbrook) and A. M. Anthony (Kaukatea) were accepted. Leave of absence on account of illhealth was granted to A. McDonald, Marton D.H.S. (one week), G. Greenaway Himatangi (one month's extension), F. Clapham, Makowhai (one month), M. Barkla, Eltham (three weeks), G: Kerr, Mangaweka (two weeks), F. E. Perry, Mangawhio (one week), M. O. Walton, Lytton Street (from November 7th to end of year), E. S. Deighton, Upper Kawhatau (one week), M. Miles, St. John's (two months), M. Baskin, Marton D.H.S. (from October 10th to end of year), L. F, Brewer, Pipiriki. Leave of absence was granted to twenty-two teachers to attend examinations. . , , ' Mr E. M. Menzies, -«rhq ; bad been headmaster of the Matarawa.
