ELECTRIC TRAMS.
< A PROPOSAL REJECTED. (Pee Pbesb Association.) WELLINGTON, June 29. Voting took place in the Lower Hutt and Petone boroughs to-day on a proposal to borrow £85,000 for electric trams for Hutt Valley. There was a majority of 62 for the proposal in the Lower Hutt and a majority of 60 against it in Petone. As a majority in each borough was required to carry the proposal it was lost.
