"ULD BRIG O' AYR."
PRESERVATION COMPLETE. (Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Per Press Association.) Received April 12, 9.15 a.m. LONDON, April 11. The preservation of the "Auld Brig o' Ayr" has been completed at a cost of £11,000. It was proposed some time ago to remove the old bridge over the river Ayr, celebrated by Burns in his poems as the "Auld Brig o' Ayr," but public opinion and subscriptions caused the bridge of such historic memories to be preserved and restored.
