ENTERTAINMENTS.

THOMPSON-PAYNE- PICTURES. In spite of the prevailing excitement tlie picture shows continue the even tenor of their way, and last evening a fair audience watched the present programme of Thompson-Payne pictures in the Opera House. This evening will be the last presentation of this series, and as the "Peter Pan" Co. occupy the theatre to-morrow and Wednesday evening, there will be no picture display .until Friday evening, when Thompson-Payne promise to present a startling novelty in connection with the Powelka incident.

HAYWARD'S PICTURES. To-night is 'the last chance of seeing the present programme at the Zealandia Hall, so all those who have not already seen that splendidly acted film, "The Galley Slave," aiid many other interesting pictures, should not lose their last opportunity to-night. To-morrow (Wednesday) the usual Aveekly change takes place. The star dramatic, "The Death Disc," an historical play in the period of Oliver Cromwell, is full of sensational scenes and actions. "Scaffhausen," a beautiful coloured scenic, "The Heir to Clavencourt Castle," a strong dramatic and vocal picture (the latter which the Haywards have made so popular); "Dorothy's Motor Car," "An Improved Inkstand," "The Trick that Failed," "How he Mesmerised his Ma-in-Law," "Grandfather's Clock," and "A Family Outing at Luna Park," the whole making a magnificent series. Mr Hayward has specially selected this programme for race week, as laughter is the dominating feature. Powelka's picture is nightly screened.
