FIRE ENQUIRY.
An enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the recent fire at Mr A. V. Burnard's premises, the Square, was held at the Court House to-day, before Mr A. D. Thomson, S.M. and the following jury -.—Messrs W. Bow.les (foreman), W. Rawlins, P. Smith, J. Halpin, H. Oliver, and Chas. Brown. Sub-Inspector O'Donovan and Detective Quartermain, of the FingerPrint Department, Wellington, represented the police, Mi* Harold Cooper the Fire Board, and Mr J. P. .limes Mr A. V: Burnard. After detailing the reasons for" holding the enquiry, Mr Thomson suggested that the jury should, before hearing the evidence, go over the premises and scene of the fire, a suggestion that they agreed to and subsequently carried out.
