WELLINGTON RACES (Per Press Association.) • TRENTHAM, April 9. There is fine weather and a good attendance for the second day's races. Results : — Hurdle Handicap..—Gold Bird 1, Hydrant 2, Longner 3. Also started: Exmoor, Moose, Chaso Mab. Time, 2.46 4-5. Gold Bird made a splendid finish, and won by half a length. Hutt Handicap.—Truganini 1, Bollin 2, Mataari 3. All started. Won by a length and a half Time, 1.41 4-5. Muritai Handicap.—San Lass 1, Leahora 2, St Felix 3. Scratched: Hilarian. Time, 1.29 3-5. Autumn Handicap.—Husbandman 1, Lady Medallist 2, Bridge 3. All started. Time, 2.8. Adria was left at the post. AVONDALE RACES.
AUCKLAND, April 9. The Avondalo Jockey Club's autumn meeting opened in fine weather. Results : — Maiden Plate.—Penwarden 1, Keleyth 2, Sir Rupert 3. Scratched: Waioatau, Montpelier, Koroirangi. Won easily. Time, 1.17 1-5. Handicap Hurdles. —Dumborve 1, Te Arai 2, Celtic 3. Scratched: Paritutu, Lady Patricia. Pierre. Won easily. Time, 3:5. Oakley Handicap. —Blue Garment 1, Impulsive 2, Waiat.i 3. All started. Time 1.2 3-5. Won easily by a length. A Sydney cable says that Bobrikoff returns to New Zealand by tjhe Ulimaroa to-day.
