The London Covutty Council recently decided that cinematograph shows should he allowed on Sundays only when given by some recognised society or organisation unconnected with the premises concerned and then not for private gam or by way of trade. According to the Daily Mail, Mr Montgomery who moved an amendment m favour ot Sunday cinematographs providing employees were given a weekly rest day, said that 500,Cf00 people patronised these places eMery Sunday. Mr W. B. W. Peel said that the Municipal Reformers were! determined to do nothing to encourage Sunday labour or weaken and restful observance of the da;v.
