Only Wallaroo in the local option vote declared for the closing of a third of the hot-els. The other districts by big majorities left things as they are. LAUNCESTON, April 7. One of the two new cables connecting Tasmania with tho mainland has been broken. Mt. Bischoff mine has shut down through want of water. This is the first time the mine has been closed for 37 years. The weather continues very dry and all the mining districts are badly in want of water.
