DEALING WITH GAMBLING OFFICES. (By Electhio Telegraph—Copyright.) (Pee Pkess Association.! Received April 5. 9.40 a.m. WASHINGTON, April 4. It is stated that the "bucket shops" possessed a fast leased telegraph wire to the New York Stock Exchange, which furnished them with reports some minutes ahead of the regular tape machines. A Government official tapped the wires and ascertained that not one-twentieth of the commissions offered were executed. A cable yesterday said the Federal authorities raided 250 bucket-shops in various cities of the United States and arrested thirty principals, including five reputed millionaires. A bucket-shop is an office or place where facilities arc given for betting small sums on current prices of stock, petroleum, etc. I
