THE CHAMPIONSHIP FIRED. HAIfLIDAY WINS THE KING'S PRIZE. (Peb Press Association.) TRENTHAM, March 11. Tho final stage of the Empire Match was fired this morning in unpleasant weather, and resulted in a victory for the New Zealanders, who scored 2043 to Australia's 1932. The highest scorer was Armourer-Sergt. Cutler, of Australia, who put up a total of 268 over all stages. The United Service Match was concluded, and resulted in a win for the Rifle Clubs by three points, who thus secured the Dawson Shield and £20. The Colonial Ammunition Company's Cup went to the Karori Rifle Club's B team.

This cleared tho way for the Championship Match, which was opened at 3.15 in unpleasant weather. Halliday, of Karori, soon forged ahead, and was never quite overtaken by his opponents. The United Service Match, Volunteers v. Rifle Clubs, 200. 600, and 800 yards, for the Dawson Challenge Shield and £10, was won by the Clubs wit!» the aggregate scores of 1668, Volunteers 1665.
