The Primate, in a. letter replying to an inquiry by Professor Inge, of (Jambridge, controverts the interpretations set upon the judgment in the Deceased Wife's Sister case against Canon Thompson, of Norwich Cathedral. He adde that Sir Lewis Dibdin said no word implying that the church had lost its essential right to determine the conditions of admission to Holy Communion. It rests with the Bishop's Court to excommunicate or not. The only question before Sir Lewis Diblin was the validity of the incumbent's repulsion of persons on his own responsibility. [The Court of Appeal dismissed Canon Thompson's appeal in the case for denying the sacrament to Mr and Mre Banister, who were married under the Deceased Wife's Sister's Marriage Act, which is not recognised by the church.] BERLIN, Feb. 8.
