STOCK SALES. Messrs Gorton and Son report:—We had a good yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle at our Feildin-g sale on Friday. The sheep, taken all over, were of a very indifferent quality, and were in consequence difficult of sale. An occasional pen made good value, but the sale was not as brisk as last week. Wethers sold well, with a rise <of fully 6d to 9d per head. There was a good demand for all classes of cattk. Mrs Caldwell's grado Jerseys, 15 to ZO-momths heifers, were a particularly good line, and were much admired. They realised £7 6s (for pen of ninje), £8 3s, £8 6s, and £8 9s.
