Mr G. J. Scott, D.0.A., who has been indisposed for some days, resumed his duties again to-day. Mr R. Aldworth has resigned as a member of the General Committee of the Manawatu A. and P. Association. Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P-, who is slow V recovering from a severe attack ot mE, has gone to Queenstown to ,e----cuperate. . . Mr H F- Gibbons, who has been visitingDSnevirke,. returnedltc>/almerston today accompanied by MrW. H. Hart Mrs W. T. Wood has decided to spend a month at Plimmerton for the benefit of Ter health. We regret to say that she is still very weak. Mr Vernon, Rector of the High School will represent secondary schools at the Educational Conference to be held in Wellington this week. Mr W Stubbs, recently elected unopposed as one of the parente' representatives on the High School Board took his seat for the first time at last night's meeting of the Governors. Mrs Kitchen, of Pohangina, met with a nasty accident a lew days ago. As she was walking along the road in the evening a horse grazing by the roadside lashed out and kicked her on the arm, which was severely bruised.

We sincerely regret their departure from our town and trust that they will meet with the greatest success in their new sphere of labour..

Mrs W. R. Williams, accompanied by Mrs and Miss Glasson and Mrs T. R. Hodder, arrived in Palmerston yesterday afternoon, having motored through from Wellington, leaving there at 8.30 a.m. and arriving here at 4 p.m. A stay of two hours was made at Otaki., The roads were in excellent order and the party had a most enjoyable trip.

The Rev. I. Jolly wrote to -the High School Board of Governors last night regretting the severance of his connection with the Board, on which ho had/the honor of being one of the first members. He had held the position ever since and his connection with the Board had given him unalloyed pleasure. He had felt it to be an honor to be a member of the Board —, both for the position itself and on account of the character of the members who composed it. Ho thanked members of the Board for many courtesies and kindnesses received from them, and trusted that the High School in which we were all so interested would continue on its career of prosperity.
