AUCTION SALES. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held a sale of valuable fj-eehold properties in. the bankrupt estate of G. F. Gilberd, at their saleyards, Mangahao'.Btjad, Pahiatua', on Tuesday, February ij ( ls. at 11.30 a.m. Particulars advertised on page 8. At Mrs Wighton's sale on Wednesday afternoon there will be found a consider able amount of good and clean household furniture and effects. The piano specially is a very fine instrument, the suite, duchess chests, dresser; in fact, everything contained in the 7-roomed dwelling will be found in excellent order, and to householders and furnishers we strongly recommend the sale. Mounsey and Co. will conduct the eale on behalf of the lady who has placed herself entirely in the auctioneer's hands, and everything 'will be sold to the best advantage. • MARKET . REPORT. Harry Palmer reports a particularly busy market sale on Saturday. Pigs still find a dragging market, particularly big porkers, although and stores sold more readily on Saturday than thev have done for some weeks. Big entries of poultry are coming forward, principally poor quality hens, ducks and half-grown cockrels. . Prices consequently are very fair. Good table sorts find ready buyers and the demand is getting keener. Our fruit entries for the week have been abnormally high and wo handled over 2000 cases of New Zealand grown fruits. On Saturday no less than 600 sold under the hammer. Prices arc about, on a par. with previous quotations. With the end of the plum season in sight • this . particular fruit has hardened considerably. There is a fair demand for produce. We quote:—Pigs. —Wcaners, 4s 6d, ss, 7s 6d, 8s 6d; good slips and stores, 9s, lis, 13s 9d,* 15s, 16s; porkers, 16s 6d, 18s 6d, £1. Poultry. — Cockrels, 4s, 4s 6d, 5s 2d; ducks, 4s to 4s 6d; inferior and half-grown ducks and ducklings, 2s 6d, 3s. 3s 6d,-3s 9d; hens, 2s to 2s 6d; pullets (young-), 3s to 4s; good forward. 4s to 6s 6d ; chicks, etc., from 9d to 2s 6d; hens and broods, 2s 9d, 4s 6d; no geese or turkeys offering.
