TELEPHONE LISTS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l would like to draw your attention <o the new telephone handbook which has been issued to subscribers. If ever there was a production to be condemned it is this. You will notice, at the back where the numbers appear consecutively an abbreviation of a. lot of names into seven columns where in. th& original book they were in three columns., and it is totally impossible to cypher them except by guesswork. The index names are not cut out. and indeed the whole production is nothing more or less than a disgrace compared with the book that was originally brought round as a sample when asking for advertisements. Thank goodness I am not an advertiser.— Yours, ctc., SUBSCRIBER.
