•»■ (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Pee Press association.) SYDNEY. Feb. 4. A four-masted barque from the west coast of America, narrowly escaped striking the Middleton reef. For eight days, while approaching , the coast, she was buffeted by incessant gales, and when day broke she was close on to the reef, and the crew had barely time to swing the f-hip clear.
