PEGDEN'S FURNITURE SALE. The sale of high-class furniture at Mr Pegden's premises today was attended by a largo number of buyere. Biddingwas brisk and the goods offered realised prices which pleased both buye.r and seller alike. There will bo a continuation of the sale to-morrow at 1 p.m., when. the balance of the goods left over from to-day's sale will be offered. AUCTION SALES. To-morrow, Mounsey and Co. will complete the selling of Mr G. Adams , gigantic stock of superior and high-class furniture, commencing at 1 p.m., at the Lyceum Theatre, Main street. The large hall has been re stocked with furnituro of every description, and will be found most suitable to householders and furnishers. To-morrow will bo the final sale, and every article will bo slaughtored at whatever price it brings. STOCK SALES. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report on their P.F.A. sale of to-day as follows: —We submitted a good yarding of sheep and cattle to' a good attendance of buyers. Both eheep and cattlo_ met good enquiry, and we cleared practically the whole yarding cither by auction or private treaty. We quote:—Good ewes of mixed ages with lambs at foot 18s 3d, 20s 4d, and 21s 6d, wethers 14s, hoggets 12s 10d, cull ewes 6s, 3-year eteers £5 ss, 2-year steers £3 18s, yearling steers 36s 6d, forward empty cows £3 14s, empty store cows £2- 6s 6d, yearling and 15month heifers £2 3a 6d, springing heifers £4 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d, young bulls £2 2s 6d to £2 12s 6d.

Company cable the following report on the frozen meat marked—Owing to heavy shipments arriving and afloat, principally from Australia, the valuo of mutton and lamb has fallen. Quotations -.—Canterbury mutton 4d, Napier, Wellington and North Island 31<i; lamb, first quality 4d second 3fd; beef, hinds 3£d, fores 2ld. SILK BLOUSES. A marvellous line of silk blouses aro being cleared for the small price _ of 4s lid each at Collinson and Cunninghame's. The. usual price of these goods was from 6s llcTto lie 6d each; some are slightly soiled, others only slightly creased.
