ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.
A FARMER ARRESTED.

WELLINGTON, November 2. Joseph Williams, a farmer belonging to Streambank. north of Auckland, was arrested to-night on a charge of attempted murder. It is said that he shot his son-in-law. Francis Joseph Martin, with a gun in Ghuznee-street, Wellington, about halfpast seven last night, tho bullet entering the fleshy part of Martin's neck. It is understood there was a difference between the parties over family matters. Martin's wound is not believed to be serious. LATER. Williams was charged to-day with attempting to murder Francis Joseph Martin. Accused was remanded till Wednesday next, bail being allowed.
