Cooper, Chief Justice of Queensland, sued-her aunt, Miss Sabina Cooper, a wealthy lady, for slander, and asked for an inquiry into the latter's sanity. It n was alleged that the. defendant reflected on Mrs Cridland's moral character. *A farthing damages were awarded, each party to pay her own costs.
