HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
DISPLAY AT LEVIN
The Levin Horticultural Society's show opened yesterday, and was attended by a large number of visitors, amongst them being the Hon H. McKenzie, Minister for Agriculture, of Victoria.
The show is a very fine one of fruit and vegetables. . The apples especially make a notable showing. Amongst the exhibits is a display of products from the Weraroa State Farm,, and also, a collection of vegetables from the Boys' Training School, including some experimental varieties that attracted much attention. The boys' general work was also exhibited by excellent samples. The prize-winners in- the chief classes were as follows : —Decorative, pot plants and cut blooms: Mes- J dames 11. Prouse, J. Prouse, Nees, W. M. Clark, Travers, Tuohy, P., S, Amis, C. K. Wilson, Fry, P. W. Goldsmith, Misses Sedcole, P. Wilson, F. Gardner, Hudson, Saxon, Messrs F. Mason and O. Johnson. Cosmeas: Winston and Donald Fry, first and second prize respectively. Bread, cake, etc.: Me.sdames W. Clark, Salmons, Grant, R. Bevan, Goldsmith; Barron, McLeavey, F. Whitaker, Bromley, J. A. Muir, and Gallichan. Fruit: .Mrs Hall, Messrs J. Johnson, J. Newton, F. O. Smith, H. Blackburn, W. R. Ingram, T. M. Kingdon, Fosella, Shuttleworth, Goldsmith, and D. Laing. Grapes: Messrs J.i and R. Prouse.
