The following new members cf the Association were elected : —Messrs W. Lyon (Palmerston North), J. Grant (Woodville), J. \V. Jenkins (Marton), W. J. Gemmell, F. Nicholson (Palmerston North), A. Macfarlane (Pahiatua), W. Robbie (Featherston), Denstam (Waituna), J. Wilson (Marton). W. M.. Bailey (Palmerston North), 11. W. Oliver (Ashhurst), D. C. McCarthy (Raumai) and S. Cannell (Palmerston North). THE PRIZE MONEY. Mi" Jacob moved that it be an instruction to the Schedule Committee that the prize money be 1101. increased this year. Mr Ilodder moved as an amendment that the prize money be cut down by £50 or more. He held that they were paying away more money than they wore justified in doing, in fact, they were paying away more than any Association of the kind in Australasia in proportion to their income. Last- year only a small profit had been made and it was possible that next year matters would be no bet- J ter. He was of the opinion that the J show would not lose any of its popularity if the prize money were cut down by £50 or even £100. Mr Wheeler trusted the amendment would not be carried. He held that the saving of £50 was a mere bagatelle as compared with the income of the Association. Mr Mcßae thought there were a number of classes on the catalogue that could be cut out with advantage. ■ The amendment was seconded by Mr Arbon and carried. GENERAL. An application was received froTn Mr J. Jones for the use of the A. and P. Association's horse boxes during the. races, for which he offered 5s each. — The application was refused. The secretary was authorised to get a printed list of members who had fallen out of the Association during the past year and have it circulated among the members of the committee. zlt was decided that the £10 deviated by Mr H.
