SCHEME TO ASSIST MEN TO EMIGRATE. :

Influenced by Australian and Canadian suggestions, Mr Haldane included in the Estimates £40,000 to initiate partial commutations of pensions to ex-soldiers to enable them to emigrate. A scheme of payments is being prePa it is understood the Admiralty will act similarly in the case of ex-sailors.
