A very enjoyable party was held in the beautiful grounds* of Mrs Hammond of "Waitohi" on Wednesday, 10th March, in aid of the Church Circuit Debt of the Wesleyan Church. The day was beautifully fine, and large numbers availed themselves of the opportunity of such a day's enjoyment. During: the afternoon games of all sorts were indulged in, while various competitions caused great amusement The ladies' driving competition was won by Miss Holmes. Afternoon tea was dispensed, and during the evening a musical programme was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number of visitors present. The takings exceeded some £15. At Glen Oroua, on Friday, 12th March, a very successful concert was held in the hall by a concert party from Foxton conducted by Mr Bett'y in aid of the Presbyterian" manee, Foxton. There was a, good attendance, and all the items were well rendered and attentively listened to by an appreciative audience. At the close, of the concert, a dance was held. ,The floor was crowded, and- all thoroughly enjoyed-, themselves. Dancing was indulged in with great spirit until the small hours of the morning.
