A BANKRUPT FARMER.
ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO KEEP BOOKS. (Peb Peesb Association.) ' NAPIER, March 15
Last week Tudor Baker; eheep farmer and commission agent, filed a petition in bankruptcy. His statement showed liabilities totalling £11,191, and assets of £3357- Arising out of the examination of bankrupt at the meeting of his creditors, the Official Assignee has issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of failing to keep proper books of account. Accused was arrested on Saturday, and brought before the Magistrate today being remanded for seven days on bail of £200. At the meeting of his creditors Baker admitted that he had not kept any books, and did not know how to keep them. »
