HEAVY LOSSES. ■ LIST OF INSURANCES. '(Per Press Association.) TAIHAPE. March 2. No buildings beyond those enumerated yesterday were destroyed. Several premises on the opposite side of the street wore scorched, and windows were broken and stock was slightly damaged by water. All this damage is in small amounts. But for the absolute calm the whole town might have been destroyed. A large quantity of goods was salvaged. The! loss over the insurance is very heavy. The total damaarc is estimated at about £25,000. The corrected insurances are :— Whaler Bros., £250 in the Australian Alliance; McPhcrson, £250 in the Sun; Nichol, £300 in the British ; Garner, £200 in the Commercial Union; Whitcombe, £150 in the Commercial Union; Finch. £100 in the Sun. £50 on personal effects in the New Zealand ; Hodgson, £300 in tho Norwich Union; Aldridge, £50 in the Sun; Jones. £250 in the Sun; Miss Frascr (tea rooms), £40 in the New Zealand ■ Wang You, £200 in the Sun; Ellis and Daryill, unknown, probfbly Alliance and Queensland. Their stock was valued at £10,000. The Labour Dopa rknent is uninsured as far as can be ascertained. W. R. Emerson, solicitor, had £50 in the New Zealand on the building. Ellis and Darvell had £860 in the 'Alliance. Mrs J. D. Barsley. on Whaler Bros.', Nichol's. and McPherson's buildings had £450 in the Sun. On Wang You's shop there was £100, and on W. P. Garner's £100 in . the Commercial Union. On E. Jones' there was £100 in the Sun. E. Hedges had on Finch's £600 in the New Zealand. F. H. Gibbons had on Garner's £100 in the Commercial Union.
