LONDON MARKETS. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, report having received the following cable messages from their London Ilouso under date of the_ July 30: — Butter.—The Copenhagen official quotation ia unchanged. The total imports of butter into tho United Kingdom for week ending 25th inst. amounted to 100,000 cwt as compared with 99,000 for the corresponding week of 1907, showing an increase of 1000 cwt. The market for D? niah butter is weak and the utmost value is 120s per cwt. Prices for New Zealand butter are unchanged, and wo quoto from 114s to 116s. There is no Australian butter on the markot. Owing t:> heavy arrivals from the Continent and Siberia the markot is lower by 2s fc'> 4a per cwt. Wo expect a further decline in prices and believe that the present state of things will not last and that recovery is probable in a few weeks. Frozen Meat.—There -is a fair demand for lamb. The demand for mutton runs principally on finest qualities. The market for beef ia firm, but there is not much demand. Our quotations for New Zealand descriptions are: Prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury, heavy 3§d, light ditto., North Island, heavy 3d, light 3|d; prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy s§d, light ; ditto., North Island, heavy sgd, light s£d; prime ox beef, fores 2|d, hinds 3yd. Tho hot weather prevailing is limiting business. Sheepskins. —Combing merino: Since our last advices prices are Higher by 3d per lb. Other descriptions are unchanged. Tallow. —Poor demand for tallow at unchanged prices. There will bo no public sales of tallow next week.
