Stephen and Ross Gore, who wore playing together, were on their way to the eighteenth hole, when Mr Stephen made a stroke which drove the ball into the rough and under the cony of a newspaper. Mr Gore could not see the ball, and the paper could not be be moved. It was (says the Sydney Mornbig Herald) calculated to rouse the risibility of the sternest individual to seo the players down on all-fours with their eyes as closo to the ground as possible to find the ball. Their efforts being unsuccessful, Mr Ross Gore made stroke "on the blind," and at, -any rate gave his j.'artucr a playable ball.
