Mr E. Larcomb, acompanicd by Mrs and Miss Larcomb, arrived in Palmerston by the mail train this morning. Mr G. Soott, of the Scott Motor Co., is at present in Palmerston, having arrived by this morning's mail train from Wellington. Mr R. R. Martin, Opposition organiser, left for Wellington this morning and proceeds to Christchurch by this evening's steamer. The death is announced of Mr Jas. Freeklington, of Ohakea, Sandon, a vveilknown farmer of the district. Deceased was fifty years of age. At St. Joseph's Church, Neiv Plymouth, on Wednesday Mr Patrick Sheeliy was married to Miss Nora Brcen, Dairy Insmietress for Taranaki. xler Excellency Lady Flunket has consented to perform the ceremony of formally opening the addition to the All Saint's Children's Home on August 28th. Noble, tho Feilding High School boy' whose back was penetrated by a piece of slate pencil, v.a.s operated ori yesterday and a piece of pencil a couple of inches long removed from just abovo the hip by Drs. Martin and Me Callum. Tho mortal remains of the late Mr J. McConvillc, better known at "Melbourne J aclc," were laid to rest at the cemetery yesterday afternoon. Deceased wa-s one of the most popular bus drivers in Palmerston North. Ho was always obliging and courteous and was liked and esteemed by all who travelled on his bus. Many mcsages of sympathy have been forwarded to Mrs McConville and family, and yesterday a large number of friends, including cab and bus drivers, joined in the funeral procession to pay thek last tribute to deceased. j
