AUCTION SALES

A reminder is given of the important sale of houses to be conducted by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., at Keir'a stables, Wellington, on Saturday, on behalf of Mr J. Keir. About 50 animals will be brought under the hammer, comprising medium and heavy draught mares and geldings, and van and tradesmen's horses, Mr Keir's only reason for selling being that the Harbour Board contract is practically finished for the season. The sale commences at 2 p.m. WOOL MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cable from their London office: —Wool: As compared with last sales' closing rates, prices are lower' by 10 per cent, for lambs, greasy merino and fine crossbred; lower by 15 per cent, for medium and inferior merino, scoured merino super; lower by 20 per cent.for coarse crossbred and medium crossbred.
