AUCTION SALES

Mounsey and Co. will sell at their « rooms to-morrow a large consignment of useful household furniture and effects, on behalf of the holders of the bill of sale, and to be sold entirely without reserve. The list comprises bedsteads, mat-trasses, bedding, chairs, tablos, washstands, chests, ductless chests, sewing machine, garden tools, crockery, etc. A light spring dray (nearly new), 30 sacks o.s. chaff, fruit, produce, etc., will also be offered. The Manawatu Auctioneering Co. sell at their rooms, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, a gig, spring dray, 3 carpets squares, YVorthcim sewing machine in good order, lot of new and second-hand furniture, produce and sundries. 11. Palmer sells at his mart to-morrow three tons of potatoes, 4 tons of chaff, barley, oats, 13 cases of raisins, bicycles, furniture, and other lines too numerous to mention. On Saturday Mr Palmer will sell a complete kit of tools valued at £50. The annual surplus sale of stock on account of Mr J. R. McDonald, to be held by Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., at Levin, on Friday, 10th April, should attract considerable attention. Twelve thousand sheep and 350 head of cattlo will be submitted for bona fide sale in lots to suit purchasers. THE STOCK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Johnsonville salo as follows: — A big yarding of bullocks came forward, including a few prime pens, but the bulk of the cattle wore plain. A small entry of sheep sold at last week's rates. We quote:—liost bullocks £8 2s 6d, £8 7s 6d, £8 12s 6d to £9; lighter sorts £6 17s Id, £7 2s 6d to £7 17s 6d; heifers, £6 5s to £6. Sheep: Best ewes to 15s. others 13s 7d to 13s lOd, wethers; 16s 2d to 16s lOd, lambs lis 2d, lis 3d to 12. A line of cull ewes made 6s, store lambs ss.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their Hunterville sale on the 24th inst., when they had a fair yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle. The following are the principal sales: —Two-tooth wothcrs lis 3d, ewe lambs 6s 6d, 2g to 3yr bullocks £ 3165, aged draught horses £14. 3yr light draught horses passed at £35, team working bullocks £4 15s.
