Gratification is expressed everywhere in Japan at- America's acceptance of the invitation for the fleet's visit. The newspapers declare that the visit will afford an opportunity for showing the sincerity of Japanese friendship for the United States ST. PETERSBURG, March 23. The Bourse Gazette, St. Petersburg, commenting on the pacific sentiments between America and Japan, declares that the invitation to the fleet does honour to Japanese diplomacy and will raise Japan's prestige. LONDON, March 23. The New York correspondent, of the Times reports 'that (few events have been hailed with more genuine satisfaction by the entire people and press than the visit of the fleet to Japan. Even the New York Sun declares that it is satisfactory .to see, instead of distrust, a feeling of international goodwill and mutual confidence.
