DOWN THE LINE.

(FflOll OUH OsYX CORRESPONDENT.) OTAKI, Saturday. Further improvements are to be made to the Anglican Church, the vestry having decided to add a porch at a cost of some £16. When completed the addition will be greatly appreciated. Football is practically dead, and the Otaki Football Club failed to raise a quorum at their annual meeting last night, only three of last season's players attending. An effort is being made to amalgamate with Tainui. \ It is probable that Mrs Smith, mother of our postmistress at the Otaki railway office, will shortly undergo an operation. Mrs Smith has been in failing health for some time. Mr Byron Brown has offered two. sections—one to the Anglican Church and one to the Wellington branch of the Y.M.C.A.. provided they build thereon. I understand both offers have been refused. A meeting of the committee of the Hor ticultural and Industrial Society was held in the meeting room of the Town Hall last night, when further arrangements wore made in connection with the forthcoming show. The Y.M.C.A. (Levin) Club commence hockey on April Ist.
