Mr W. F. Massey, will visit Wellington about the middle of April. We regret to hear of the illness of Mr Jas. McCrea, the well-known Jersey breeder, of Stoney Creek. Mr McCrea enters Mrs Freeman's hospital tomorrow, where ho undergoes an operation which, it is hoped, will result in restoration to health. At the meeting of the Philosophical Socicty last evening the opportunity was taken of presenting Mr K. Wilson, M.A., secretary of tho Socicty with a handsome travelling rug in recognition of his services. Mr Wilson is shortly leaving for the Old Country, and Mr Cohen, i.i making the presentation stated that they felt that, they could not allow him to ieave without some recognition of their tppreciation and the goodwill in which Ihev held him. It was not possible to speak too highly of the work that had been dono by Mr Wilson for tho Society. While it was yet in ijts infancy ho had done much to keep it together, and throughout had done all in his power to promote its success. Mr Wilson, in responding, thanked the members of the Society for the presentation they had made him, and not only for that., but also for the many expressions of goodwill which accompanicd it. He had always had the interest of the Society at heart, and it had been a pleasure to him io do all that ho could for it and to see it prosper as it had done. In the course of his travels he might still be able to do something for it, and if he could ho would be only too pleased to do so. Mr Wilson is proceeding Homo a.5 a delegate to tho Missionary Congicss in London.
