Per Press Association NAPIER March 19. A deputation of trawl owners met the Minister of Marine to-day to ask that arrangements might be made wtiereby the carriage of fish to Wellington might be expedited, so that the fish might arrive there in the best of condition, and so prevent the present; los 3 occasioned by the slow method of transit. The Minister promised to give consideration to the wishes of tho deputation. Another deputation asked that tho men in charge of lighters working in the bay only might be exempt from the regulation requiring them to possess Home trade certificates. The Minister promised to consider the matter as it affected lighters trading only in the bay. A race for patikis in conncction with the Carnival Regatta was got off this afternoon. The Meteor, when leading, had her throat halyard block carried away, which put her out of fust place. Maroondah (C. F. McDonald), with a niinuto allowance, won, with .the Edith (6min.) second on time, and Sunray third.
