Messrs Holben and Kirk arc prepared to undertake sewer connection work. Tenders arc invited by D-Q.A. for stock in the bankrupt estate of R. Spencer, grocer. The Palrnerston North Fabian society has arranged a. course of lectures covering the winter months. The session will be opened to-morrow <Friday) evening, when Mr S. W. Fitzherbert, of Feildmg, will lecture, taking for his subject "Social EvoluCion," which, in view of the groat interest eow being taken m Socialism and kindred should receive wide attention. The meeting takes place in the supper room at the Opera House, and the public are invited to be present. Admission is free, and questions and discussion *' will bo welcomed. The lecture commences at
