OLD HANDS FAVOUR RESUMING WORK. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, March 17. Strike matters at Blackball are very quiet, and yesterday a largo number of the miners attended the Grey races. Tho manager reports no change in the position, and says he is only waiting developments. A minor, speaking to an Argus reporter, stated that the old hands are tired of the strike, and that if the question of resuming work was settled by ballet, instead of open voting, the men would decide in favour of ending the strike. No one liked to take tho stand, and so a deadlock continued. Mr Prichard leaves for Christchurch in the morning to canvass for support for the union. Mr Guinness, M.P., spent the day in Blackball yesterday, and met the executive of (ho union. He states that the men are very determined to insist upon half an hour crib-time being allowed before they resume work. The miners are waiting to sec what success their delegates have with other unions before deciding on their further course of action. The State coal miners are determined not to take part in the trouble, and express themselves very much against the attitude of the Blackball men. At Tyneside the question is not considered, tlio men blaming agitators for the trouble.
