DETERMINED SUICIDE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 16.. A young man named David Ernest. Forest, nged 19 years, committed suicide at May-field in a very determined manner. Forest, who was a carpenter employed at Chelsea sugar works, left home saying ho was going to shoot rabbits. Later on his brother found a letter from him stating ho was " going dotty" and intended to put an end to himself. The brother proceeded with his mother torhc spot indicated in the letter, and found the body with a gun beside it. Deceased had apparently placed the muzzle of the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. His head was utterly shattered. lie had spent many- sleepless nights, and fear of an operation preyed on his mind.
