ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. GISBORNE. March 14. A bushfeller named Michael Cruickshank was killed by a falling tree at Tahora. His mate had a narrow escape from the tree, which was four feet in thickness. Four men carried the bodythree miles o\;er rough country, and then it was taken on a pack-horse to Wharekopae, occupying 23 hours in going 28 miles. Deceased was single, and a native of Australia. His mother and sister reside in Gisborno MASTER-TON, March 14. A man named*. Alexander McLellan was found dead in, his room at the Club Hotel this morning. Deceased was aged about seventy, and had been working on Brancepeth station as a shepherd. Death was apparently the result, of natural causes. , „, NEW PLYMOUTH** March 14. A farm labourer named Percy Hall, about 26 years of age,' • >vaV>fblind- drowned in the Waitara river, .near'Purangi. yesterday. Deceased was working for a farmer named Glasgow. , y and went to muster cattle, having to ford the river. As he did not return, another man was sent to look for him. and found his body. Hall had no relatives in New Zealand.
