AUCTION SALES

The sale by auction is announced to-day of the well-known Lilybank Estate, near Wanganui. The estate is some 400 seres in area, and has been subdivided into sections of from 15 to 70 acres. The land being of a superior quality and adjacent to tlie Westmere station,, should command a ready sale. For men with limited means this sale,, which will be held oil July 16th, will offer a good opportunity of securing a holding within easy distance of a market. STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Feilding, report for the week ending Bth inst. as follows: — Kimbolton (Tuesday).—Notwithstanding the very rough weather experienced on Tuesday and preceding days, we had an exceptionally heavy yarding, cattle in particular coming forward in large numbers, every jen being filled. There was also a good yarding of slieep. In sympathy with down country markets, bidding was dull, but nevertheless we succeeded in effecting practically a total clearance.

Feilding (Friday). —We had a good entry of sheep and cattle. Prices were on a par with those ruling last "week. Quotations —Sheep : At KimboltoM Two-tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb £1 Is, mixed lambs 12s 3d, ewe lambs 13s Id, mixed lambs and small 2tooths 13s 2d. Cattle: Weaners: (good) 255, 28s; weaners 15s, 18s, 20s, £1 Is; mixed yearlings 27 6d, 31s; 18-months to 2-yr steers £3, springing cows £4 2s 6d to £5 10s, forward cows £2 10s 6d, £2 Hp, £3 17s 6d; store cows £1 to £1 19s, 2-yr heifers 31s 6d to 365, 18-montlisJ heifers 32s 6d, yearling heifers 29s 6d. Feildiug.—Sheep: Cull lambs 3s 6d, store lambs 10s to lis IQd, ewe lambs 14s, cull ewes 5, ewes in lamb 13s 9d. Cattle: Weaners , (small) 7s, store cows 25s to 355, forward cows £2 12s 6d, fat heifers £3, 2-yr heifers 30s 6d, 2-\r steers £3 10s, forward bullocks £5 19s.

Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sal© at the Upper Hutt »n Friday, when a fair yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle came forward. Both sheep and cattle Bold well, and almost the whole yarding was disposed of. The following were prices realised:—Small woolly lambs, 9s 6d; forward wethers, 17s; aged ewes in lamb ,13s; fat cows, £5 to £5 10s; forward cows, £3 10s; store cows, £1 12s 6d to £2 3s; springing: heifers, £2 4s to £4 3s; 20-month heifers, £1 13s; stags, £2; bulls, 16s: to £1 17s Gd; porkers, £1 3s to£l 10s.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale of the 11th inst. as follows : —We had a fair yarding of sheep, mo3t of which were sold by auction, and the balance | after the sale. Fat and forward wethers realised 18s 3d, forward wethers 17s Id, mixed ewes and wethers 15s 2d, medium lambs 10s 5d to 10s Bd, empty forward ewes 10s 2d, empty ewes 9s, aged ewes 6s 6d. A small yarding of cattle met a fairly good sale. Fat heifers £3 lis, empty cows 50s, 2-yr heifers in calf 475. (Special to "Standard.") FEILDING, June 8. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Feilding sale:-'-We had a fair yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle. All classes of sheep were decidedly easier. Cattle met with a fair demand.
