WEDDING BELLS.
The Baptist Church was crowded this afternoon on the occasion of the marriage of Mr George John Holmes Miller, eldest son of the late Mr G. Miller, to Miss Annie Ellen Banks, formerly of Chingford, Essex. The bride, who was given a,.-ay by a relative, Mr W. H. Payne, was most charmingly apparelled in a dress of white silk, hand-embroidered, and trimmed with chiffon and lace. She also wore a liand-embroidered veil with the orthodox orange blossoms. The bride carried a beautifully-bound white Bible, with streamers, the gift of her former employees. The bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Payne and Miss Ethel Payne, nieces- of the bride, and Miss Fensham and Miss Nina Fensham, of Carterton. The elder bridesmaids were attired in soft pale-green silk voile dresses, trimmed with Valenciennes lace fichus, and carried pretty bouquets of white flowers with pink and green streamers. The little maids wore pale pink dresses trimmed with Valenciennes lace fichus, and carried floral crooks with streamers. Mr Harold Cockrell, of Otaki, acted in the capacity of best man and Mr York, of Carterton, as groomsman. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion, and the service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. F. Mac Donald, while Mr J. Whitebead, jnnr., played the "Wedding March" as the bridal party passed down the aisle. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold watch, and to the bridesmaids pretty gold brooches with neck-chains. Amongst the numerous presents were those l'rom the Baptist Junior C.E. Society and the members of the church, amongst whom the recipients were active workers. The reception was held at the rooms of Messrs Whitehead Bros., Main Street, after which the happy couple left by the evening train for Napier. The bride wore a_ travelling costume of navy blue, with white furs and hat.
