Professor Salmond. who has been Professor of Law at Victoria College for the past year, has scut in his resignation in order to take up a position in the. Crown Law Department- under the AttorneyGeneral. Mr H. J- Paul, licensee of the Globe Hotel, Renwiek (Marlborough), met with a painful accident last week, necessitating his removal to the \\ airati Hospital. Mr Paul was rolling barrel of beer, when lie slipped, and the barrel came upon him. His nose was smashed and his ia.ee severely battered. His condition is considered hope!id.
